Mittens

I'm so happy with these! It is being useasonably cold this year and these are extremely warm and fit well.

I did a mash up of few different charts from this book, which is well worth buing if you are into latvian mittens. The amount of charts and patterns is incredible and techniques (like the latvian braid, different cast-ons) are explained really well.

The yarn is traditional colourwork shetland yarn by Jamieson&Smith. It is not the softest but on the upside it will probably wear well. I'd like to try my new Blue Faced DK yarn for another pair.

Keep warm and knit on!

I agree - dark, but not gloomy - they look like warm lights in windows, wenn you look into a house from the outside in the dark:))
